以媒介研究为基——曼诺维奇的新媒体艺术理论

摘要: 列夫·曼诺维奇从“新媒体”研究出发,以勾连现代艺术与计算机科技为研究路径,揭示了新媒体艺术的历史源流与内在机制。在历史源流方面,新媒体与现代艺术,尤其先锋艺术异质同构,新媒体以挪用拼贴的程序化、空间蒙太奇的日常化、构成主义的自动化继承先锋派的艺术实践、实现先锋派的艺术观念;新媒体艺术则揭示乃至预言新媒体的发展。
从内在机制来看,基于新媒体的运作机制,尤其是文化界面与数据界面的转码机制,新媒体艺术成为“文化习俗”与“软件习俗”的“混合体”。从新媒体研究到新媒体艺术研究,曼诺维奇建构出独特的“新媒体-艺术”的研究逻辑与理论话语,为新媒体艺术研究拓展出新维度。

Abstract: Lev Manovich, starting from the study of "new media" and taking the link between modern art and computer technology as the research path, reveals the historical origin and internal mechanism of new media art. In terms of historical origins, new media and modern art, especially avant-garde art, are heterogeneous and isomorphic. New media inherits avant-garde artistic practices and realizes avant-garde artistic concepts through the procedural use of collages, the daily use
of spatial montages, and the automation of constructivism; new media art reveals and even predicts the development of new media. From the perspective of internal mechanism, based on the operation mechanism of new media, especially the transcoding mechanism of cultural interface and data interface, new media art has
become a "hybrid" of "cultural customs" and "software customs". From new media research to new media art research, Manovich constructed a unique research logic
and theoretical discourse of "new media art", expanding a new dimension for new media art research.
