隐喻的中介：T. J. 克拉克的一种艺术社会史方法

摘要: 当代艺术社会史家T.J.克拉克的艺术史观念认为，绘画惯例的变迁卷入了历史进程之中，要捕捉它与社会历史产生的联系（并不必然在所有作品中发生），则必定要面对一个特殊的“历史时刻”。要在艺术作品与社会背景之间实现真正的“接合表述”，就要避免反映、类比等方式，转而进行中介式的调解机制。克拉克利用开放性的隐喻阐释，支持和论证了那构建于现代主义艺术理论中的价值的社会性，提出了一种独特的艺术社会史研究方法。

Abstract: T.J. Clark, a contemporary social historian of art, holds that the change of painting practice is involved in the process of history. To capture its connection with social history (which does not necessarily happen in all works), one must face a special "historical moment". In order to realize the real "joint articulation" between the artistic works and the social background, we should avoid the ways of reflection and analogy, and adopt the mediation mechanism instead. Clark uses the open metaphor to explain, support and demonstrate the sociality of value that is built in the modernist art theory, and puts forward a unique research method of art history.
