摘要: 修拉创作的新印象派绘画的一大特征,就是在部分画作的外沿有一圈以点彩法笔触画就的边框。这是修拉发明的一种崭新手法,是修拉就画面与边框之间的关系进行深入思索的结果。画出来的边框在制造空间后退感的同时,也否定了绘画平面的透明性。他在画作中对签名的处理也与此相关,都是他对新的图像错觉手法的整体探索中的一部分。
Abstract: A major feature of Seurat’s Neo-Impressionist painting is that he painted the borders and frames by himself. This is a new method invented by Seurat, which is the result of the artist’s meditation on the relationship between his pictures and frames. The painted border also constitutes a disavowal of the transparency of the picture’s surface while creating the illusion of spatial recession. Seurat’s treatment of his signatures and frames are part of his overall exploration of new methods of pictorial illusionism.
