Digital Economy Empowers Carbon Emission Reduction in the Transportation Industry
摘要: 在“双碳”目标的指引下,借力数字经济实现交通运输行业的降碳受到广泛关注。本文基于中国2010—2021年30个省份的面板数据,从多维度构建数字经济评价指标体系,并采用IPCC方法计算交通运输行业的碳排放量,实证分析了数字经济对交通运输行业碳排放的影响机制及其关系。研究表明:数字经济和交通运输行业碳排放间存在“倒U型”关系,并利用门槛效应模型对其非线性关系进行了进一步验证;中介检验发现,数字经济能够通过优化交通运输结构降低交通运输行业的碳排放。
Abstract: Guided by the “dual carbon” goals, leveraging the digital economy to achieve carbon reduction in the transportation industry has received widespread attention. Based on the panel data from 30 provinces in China from 2010 to 2021, a multi-dimensional evaluation index system for the digital economy was constructed, and the IPCC method was used to calculate the carbon emissions of the transportation industry. The impact mechanism and relationship of the digital economy on the carbon emissions of the transportation industry were empirically analyzed. Research has shown that there is an inverted U-shaped relationship between carbon emissions in the digital economy and transportation industry, and a threshold eff ect model has been used to verify its nonlinear relationship. Intermediary testing has revealed that the digital economy can reduce carbon emissions in the transportation industry by optimizing the transportation structure.
