Beyond the Material Dimension: The Return to Humanism in the Digital Age from the Theoretical Perspective of History of Reading
摘要: 物质向度的阅读理论以媒介技术自主性为底层逻辑,主要聚焦媒介技术环境中阅读实践诸要素之连接与构
序。此种理论以媒介中心为圭臬,与文本的意义接受和传播实践路径分道扬镳,但并未解决前阅读理论遗留的人的主体性问题。文章通过对阅读理论史的考察,提出以人的主体性作为阅读理论人本向度的核心关切,认为数字时代的阅读理论亟待复归人本主义框架,即在数字阅读实践中观照知识交往关系的校准、追问读者的主体权利回归以及寻求人机欲求的价值对齐。这一理论框架立足于人的主体性三重维度,论述了人类阅读实践的关键内省。未来,人类在媒介技术系统中充分认识自己的主体价值,将是解决数字阅读“后种系生成”危机的重要前提。
Abstract: The material dimension of reading theory in the digital age is based on the autonomy of media technology as the underlying logic, while responding to the connection and sequence of various elements of reading practices mediated by media technology. This theory takes a media centric approach and diverges from traditional approaches, but it does not address the issue of human subjectivity left behind by previous reading theories. The article examines the history of
reading theory and proposes that human subjectivity should be the core concern of the reading theory. It believes that in the digital age, reading theory urgently needs to return to the humanism framework, which includes examining the calibration of knowledge exchange relationships in digital reading practice, questioning the return of readers' subjective rights, and seeking value alignment between human and machine desires. This theoretical framework starts from the
three dimensions of human subjectivity and also highlights the key introspection of human reading practice. In the future, fully recognizing one's own subjective value in the system of media technology will be an important prerequisite for solving the crisis of "epiphylogenetic" in digital reading.
