全球视野下城市全要素生产率测算与比较

Measurement and Comparison of Urban Total Factor Productivity from a Global Perspective

摘要: 在发展新质生产力的过程中突出“因地制宜”,首先需要科学评估各城市的经济发展质量。本文基于全球视野,采用可变要素产出弹性假定下的索洛余值法对我国城市层面的全要素生产率进行测算,并首次与发达国家的主要城市展开比较,最后在此基础上进行了敛散性分析。结果显示,我国城市全要素生产率增速的中位数在大多数年份为正,而国外主要城市的全要素生产率呈现明显的负增长态势。我国一、二线城市的经济发展水平向国际发达城市不断靠拢,但全要素生产率增速并未出现明显下降。分区域来看,我国东部城市的全要素生产率增速高于西部和中部城市,一、二线城市的全要素生产率增速高于其他城市。国内外城市、国内不同区域内部城市的全要素生产率增速均表现出收敛趋势,且东部和中部城市的收敛速度快于西部城市。

Abstract: It is crucial to scientifically assess the quality of economic development in each city in the process of developing and cultivating new quality productive forces. Based on a global perspective, this paper adopts the Solow residual method under the assumption of variable output elasticities to measure total factor productivity at the city level in China; compares this with major cities in developed countries for the first time; and carries out a convergence analysis on this basis. The results show that the median growth rate of total factor productivity in China's cities is positive in most years, while the total factor productivity of major foreign cities shows obvious negative growth. The economic development level of China􀆳s first -and second -tier cities has been moving closer to that of internationally developed cities, while the growth rate of total factor productivity has not declined significantly. By region, the total factor productivity growth rate of China􀆳s eastern cities is higher than that of western and central cities. The total factor productivity growth rate of first-and second-tier cities is higher than that of other cities. The total factor productivity growth rates of cities domestically and abroad, as well as those within different regions of China, all show a converging trend. The rate of convergence is faster for cities in the eastern and central China than for cities in western China.
